The UNT Dallas Core Curriculum Committee supports, develops and oversees the university’s core curriculum program and courses to promote intellectual inquiry, foster a breadth of knowledge drawn from diverse academic areas, and develop a set of critical core competencies. The committee ensures that the program meets Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) requirements for the Texas Core Curriculum (Texas Educational Code 61.821-61.822) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools – Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) general education program requirements (Texas Administrative Code Rules 4.22, 4.23, 4.25, and 4.28 under Title 19, Part 1, Chapter 4, Subchapter B).
Committee Responsibilities
Faculty representatives specializing in each Foundational Component Area (FCA), School representatives from Business, Education and Human Services, member of the University Curriculum Committee, Director of University Accreditation and Policy or designated representative, member of the Office of the Registrar and member of Academic Advising and Student Success Center.
3-year terms (with exception of inaugural member roster that will be staggered for continuity)
