Our Mission
The mission of the UNT Dallas Department of Public Safety, Risk, and Emergency Management (DPS-RM) is to provide a resilient emergency management structure dedicated to public safety and welfare through the preservation of life, health, property, and the environment. The Department of Public Safety, Risk and Emergency Management (DPS-RM) strives to build a resilient community that withstands all hazards, adapts quickly to disruptions, and ensures continuity of operations.
Our Vision
The vision of the UNT Dallas Department of Public Safety, Risk, and Emergency Management (DPS-RM) is to establish a campus community-centric approach to health and safety preventative initiatives and mitigation preparedness. DPS-RM strives to build a resilient campus community utilizing industry standards and best practices to foster a safe and secure academic and work environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

The values of the UNT Dallas Department of Public Safety, Risk, and Emergency Management
(DPS-RM) are embodied in a team comprised of full-time commissioned police officers
and civilian professional staff dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of the
University of North Texas at Dallas campuses. We are committed to the highest standards
of professionalism and ethical behavior, and we conduct ourselves with Professionalism,
Respect, Integrity, Diversity and Excellence (P.R.I.D.E.) in all we do.
