The UNT Dallas Marketing and Communications Team has been honored with five awards for graphic design and video production in a national competition.
The Educational Advertising and Digital Marketing Awards recognize excellence in websites, digital content, electronic communications, mobile media and social media. A national panel of industry specialists review each entry; they judge creativity, marketing execution and message impact.
Jared Horn, Creative Services Manager, received two Educational Digital Marketing awards in the Digital Special Video category:
"Shout out to Student Affairs for allowing me lots of freedom on the Ignite project," said Horn. "And I must share credit on the hospitality video with Dr. Bill Ingram, the program coordinator at the time, who sent me tourism commercials that became the inspiration for the hospitality video."
Graphic Designer Thomas Aaron McMillan received three Educational Advertising awards:
"It was a thrill to represent UNT Dallas in this competition and to see our creativity appreciated," said McMillan.
During a town meeting today, Horn and McMillan were recognized for their accomplishments by UNT Dallas President Bob Mong and Vice President for University Advancement Dr. Monica Williams. They each received a round of applause from campus colleagues.
Each year, the Educational Advertising Awards and Educational Digital Marketing Awards judge hundreds of entries in dozens of categories, submitted by higher education institutions, marketing firms and advertising agencies. "We are very proud of Jared and Aaron. Their talents mean so much to our team and UNT Dallas. Their work expresses and enhances our brand," said Yolanda Franklin, Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communications.
