Some courses at UNT Dallas will require students to utilize specific software to engage with course materials and submit assignments and assessments. Following is brief overview of some of the applications provided by UNT Dallas.
LockDown Browser is a locked browser for use with quizzes in Canvas. It prevents you from printing, copying, going to another URL, or accessing other applications during an assessment. If a Canvas quiz requires that LockDown Browser be used, you will not be able to take the quiz with a standard web browser. With Respondus Monitor, a webcam is used to record you during an online exam. If your course requires either of these tools, information for how to download and use this software will be provided by your instructor. There is no charge to currently enrolled students for LockDown Browser or Respondus Monitor.
Microsoft Office 365 is an office productivity tool that comprised of a word processor (Word), a spreadsheet application (Excel), a presentation application (PowerPoint), and many other productivity tools. It can be used to complete assigned tasks in various courses. There is no charge to currently enrolled students for Microsoft Office.
