The philanthropy cord signifies a graduating student's philanthropic commitment helping future Trailblazers achieve their academic dreams. 

Is this donation tax-deductible?

The University of North Texas at Dallas Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We'll send it to you upon successful completion of your donation. 

Why should I make a Senior Gift?

Many university scholarships are funded by generous alumni, donors, community members, and businesses who believe in our mission to empower students, transform lives, and strengthen communities. A gift to the scholarship fund or school means that you are paving the way for your fellow Trailblazers to succeed - just like others have donated to help enrich the collegiate experience for you. It is important to help others succeed, so your senior gift will make achieving academic goals possible.

Where will my donation go?

Donations go to the UNT Dallas Foundation, an 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and official affiliate of the university. While the Senior Gift campaign encourages graduates to support the UNT Dallas Alumni Association's Scholarship Fund, you ultimately have the ability to determine where your donations go by selecting one of the options in the designation drop-down menu on the online giving form.

Am I required to make a Senior Gift?

No, graduating students are not required to donate. We just encourage you to consider making your first contribution to your alma mater to help future students who are in dire need of scholarship funds. Graduates who donate $25 or more will receive a philanthropy cord to wear at commencement.
