University of North Texas at Dallas have partnered with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the College Advising Corps to service local high schools through a near-peer hybrid advising model.
College Advising Corps (CAC) is a national non-profit that works to increase the number of low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students securing postsecondary pathways. To deliver on this mission, the organization partners with 30 colleges and universities in 17 states to place recent graduates as college advisers in 782 underserved high schools. CAC works in communities across the country to provide the advising and encouragement that students need to navigate college admissions.
UNTD AdviseTX CAC’s goal is to meet the college, military, and career transitional needs of our students. Our advisers are trained to assist with FAFSA/TASFA, college applications, provide presentations on college and career readiness, assist in planning signing days, college fairs, Summer Melt activities, and other college and career readiness activities as needed for all grade levels.
