Keith M. Maddox started working at the University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) in January 2024. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Birmingham-Southern College and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has completed several management and leadership training courses, including the prestigious Partnership for Public Service Excellence in Government Fellows Program, the Federal Executive Institute, and the American University Key Leadership Program. He is a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Government Auditing Professional, and a proud Navy veteran.
Before joining UNT Dallas, Keith was a senior auditor for the City of Dallas. He worked on various audit engagements related to the City and helped with staff training and development. Keith has over 30 years of experience in Federal Government management and leadership roles. He has held supervisory and operational positions with the U.S. Navy, U.S. Postal Service regional and headquarters offices, project manager with NASA, Regional Inspector General, and Executive Officer for the U.S. Department of Education Office of Inspector General. In these roles, he was responsible for performing various highly sensitive assignments and evaluations that impacted the implementation and development of programs and policies. He analyzed and advised senior management on the evaluation and effectiveness of programs and operations.
Keith was responsible for reviewing and overseeing the development of policies, standards, systems, and procedures that ensure the total integration of program evaluation and measurement concepts. He provided advice and recommendations to senior staff regarding change management, emphasizing creating customer-focused organizations and other issues involving business process reengineering, reorganization implementation, and communication.
Keith is also an active member of the community and serves on many nonprofit community-based organizations.
