Biography

Anita Ofori joined the UNT Dallas College of Law Office of Student Affairs as the College of Law’s Licensed Professional Counselor and ADA Facilitator.  Before coming to Dallas, Anita practiced psychotherapy for about two and a half years in Toledo Ohio. She earned her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2018 and B.A in Early Childhood Education in 2014, all from The University of Toledo.

Anita has a variety of experiences in the field of counseling including providing diagnosis and treatment for adults, adolescents, and children of various backgrounds. She also has experience providing individual, family, and group therapy to a diverse population.

Anita is passionate about working with people experiencing problems such as depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem issues, and relationship issues.  Anita utilizes Evidence-Based Practices including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapy. She strongly believes in individualized and collaborative care with clients in which they choose the direction and take ownership of their treatment. 

Anita is from Ghana, West Africa, she is multilingual, loves music (disc jockey), enjoys participating in CrossFit, as well as spending time with her family and friends.
